Asamoah Gyan confirms talks with returnee Kevin Boateng to aid World Cup qualification
Asamoah Gyan says he has since spoken with Kevin Prince Boateng.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has spoken to Kevin-Prince Boateng on his return to the Black Stars to boost their chances of reaching the Brazil 2014 World Cup finals.

The AC Milan star's rescinded his decision to quit international football last month and that was confirmed by Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.

His return has been met with varied opinions as many believe he will bolster the Black Stars for the final 2014 World Cup qualifier.

Others are of the view that his re-admission will serve as a bad precedent for the team.

Gyan has now revealed he spoke to the Milan midfielder in coercing the former Germany youth international to return to the team.

The Al Ain striker stresses he is only doing his bid to convince disgruntled players to be available for the nation but the final decision to recall them lies squarely on coach Kwesi Appiah.

"I have spoken to Kevin (Boateng) when I heard the news (about his return) I spoke to Kevn," he told reporters at his residence.

"They've got so many reasons that you cannot come out and say it to the press.

"They've got their personal reasons. I am the captain of the team and I try to do my best to get the players to come and support the nation.

"But I am not the coach, sometimes they can be available but it depends on the coach to either invite them or not."
