Asamoah Gyan has joined his Black Stars teammates in Abu Dhabi
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has arrived at the team’s pre-Nations Cup training camp in Abu Dhabi after missing Saturday’s training session.
Gyan sought permission from the Ghan FA to delay because of urgent family matters.
The Al Ain striker will train with the team for the first time on Sunday at the Zayad City Sports Complex.
Gyan’s presence has increased the number of players to 24 leaving injured midfielder Andre Ayew as the only player to touch base in the Gulf.
Ghana have 11 days to fine tune preparations before the tournament starts in South Africa on 19 January.
They will play Egypt and Tunisia in Nations Cup warm-up matches next week at their camping base.
I project Asamoah Gyan will score a lot of goals at the AFCON.
He will score a lot of goals and miss more penalties
11 days to get the Black Stars ready to perform. I am sorry they are not training at high elevation which was originally planned for Kenya or Ethiopia. I know Coach Appiah would not want to go through that Kenya fiasco again.
The first few days should be devoted to training and fitness especially for the likes of Derek Boateng, Anthony Annan who are not playing 90 minutes consistently for their Clubs and might end up starting due to their status with the team.
At this level if you are not well conditioned you will get smoked.
A. Gyan should learn to celebrate with team mates when another player other than himself scores. Watch video of past matches and see.
