Ghanaian striker Nathaniel Asamoah has cancelled his contract with Red Star Belgrade just over a year after joining the Serbian club.

The 23-year-old who joined Red Star from Asante Kotoko is leaving over unpaid wages and bonuses.

The Serbian club have also failed to pay the transfer monies owed Kotoko for signing the striker.

They have been ordered by FIFA to play the Ghanaian champions in excess of 300,000 Euros for their failure to honour their financial obligations.

Asamoah has already arrived in Ghana to hold talks with clubs interested in his services.

The former Wa All Stars player has been linked with a return to Kotoko ahead of the start of the Ghana Premier League season.
