Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong kept Arsenal fans up to date with what’s going on behind the scenes during international break with the Black Stars.

Frimpong celebrated rejoining the Ghana squad by posting a picture of him and Chelsea star Michael Essien after jetting out for the Black Stars latest World Cup qualifier against Egypt.

The Defensive midfielder spoke of his joy at being back in the team, telling journalists: "The last game of the season I got injured in my knee and I was out for three months.

"But I am fit now and the coach has called me to come and play for my nation.

"It is always an honour playing for your country and I am very pleased to be here."

Frimpong and Essien  have struggled for game time with their Premier League sides this season, with Essien stuck behind Ramires and John Obi Mikel for Chelsea, and Frimpong stuck behind at least four on-song midfielders.

For Ghana though, Essien and Frimpong are starters, and will hope to play together at next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
