Arsenal ready to pay 9 million Euros for Afriyie Acquah

Posted On Thursday, 3rd January 2013

Afriyie Acquah

Arsenal are prepared to make a € 9 million January bid for Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah, according to reports in the English press.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Parma with an option of a buy at the end of the season.

The Serie-A side however don’t seem keen on retaining the services of the Palermo player, thus giving Arsenal a real chance of landing the former DC United player.

Manager Arsene Wenger is looking for an affordable option in the transfer markets to add some steel to his fragile midfield.

The Frenchman has been in the hunt for a defensive midfielder since the departure of Alexander Song to Barcelona in the summer.

Acquah is a good player & Arsenal is a good place to develop. With Emmanuel Frimpong reverting back to Arsenal, I see a tough midfield battle.
