Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is plotting a strategy to stop Olympique Marseille star Andre Ayew in their Champions League meeting on Wednesday.

The English giants are already in France for their Group F opener.

Both sides have enjoyed a relatively good start to their domestic campaigns but Marseille look to turn the pressure on the Gunners in what proves to be an exciting game at the Stade Velodrome.

Wenger will however be paying special attention to Ghana forward Andre Ayew – whom was strongly linked to a move to Arsenal in the summer - in his pre-match tactical brief.

This according to the French trainer is to minimize the devastating impact of the flying wide man who is also very effective in midfield.

“We know he [Andre Ayew] is a very good player and provides a threat for us,” Wenger said at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday night.

“We will have to devise ways of stopping him and ensure he doesn’t hurt us that much.”
