Appiah not being over-worked with Local Black Stars job - Pappoe

Appiah not being over-worked with Local Black Stars job - Pappoe

Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah

Chairman of Ghana’s CHAN team, Fred Pappoe insists coach Akwasi Appiah is not being over-stretched as he assumes responsibility for the side.

The Black Stars coach is currently in camp with the first batch of twenty seven (27) players called up from the various Premier League sides.

There are however concerns being raised over the increased workload of Appiah who is looking to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

But Pappoe explains the Local Black Stars job will not interfere with the Ghana coach’s work with the A team.

“It is a matter of looking at the calendar and at this time where there is no or little activity with the Black Stars, Akwasi Appiah will be able to do the job without any hitches,” he told Accra-based Radio XYZ.

Milovan Rajevac served as coach of both teams during his tenure as the technical head of the Black Stars between 2008-2010.

The Serbian led the Local Black Stars to a silver medal finish at the maiden edition of the CHAN tournament hosted in the Ivory Coast.

The CHAN tournament is the local version of the Africa Cup of Nations only meant for players plying their trade on the continent.

BULLSHIT…THIS IS NOT RIGHT. WE HAVE TONS OF COACHES IN GH WHO CAN ASSUME THE ROLE. SILAS TETTEH, SABAN QUAYE ARE BOTH COMPETENT TO DO THE JOB. WHY MUST AA BE THE COACH FOR CHAN AS WELL. GFA, BE VERY CAREFUL….

WE NEED AT LEAST 2 FRIENDLIES BEFORE AA MAKES HIS OFFICIAL SELECTIONS FOR AFCON 1023. WE NEED TO PREPARE AND CAMP AS WELL. WHY MUST AA SPEND THIS SMALL TIME ATTENDING TO CHAN DUTIES, WHEN HE CAN EITHER BE RESTING OR TRAVELLING TO WATCH POTENTIAL PLAYERS IN GH, AFRRICA AND EUROPE? INSTEAD NYANTAKYI AND KONADU ARE THE ONES SCOUTING…? LOL

IF WE FAIL TO WIN THE TROPHY, NYATAKYI BETTER NOT COME TO GH. THE GFA BUILDING WILL BURN

    • KWAME PITO says:

it is always best the coach of the main BLACKSTARS also handles the local BLACKSTARS. What is the difference between the two? just the absence of foreign players. Besides it makes the coach even better at monitoring players and also avoid unneccesary competition and distraction from any other person going around as local Blackstars coach. GHFUO unlike your name you are not THINKING BIG at all.

      • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

U ARE NOT VERY SMART MY FRIEND. PERHAPS, GET AA TO ALSO BE THE ASSISTAND COACH, TECH DIRECTOR, FITNESS INSTRUCTOR, PSYCHOLOGICAL MENTOR, LAUNDRY PERSON AS WELL.

A LOCAL COACH WHO IS EXCELIN IN THE LOCALLEAGUE SHOULD GET THE NOD TO BE THE COACH OF THE CHAN TEAM, NOT APPIAH. APPIAH IS THE GBSTARS COACH. THERE IS A REASON WHY WE HAVE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT, OKAY. AA WILL EVEN BE BIASED IN HIS SELECTIONS. HE HAS BEEN WORKING IN AND OUT OF GH. HE HASNT HAD THE TIME TO BE AT HOME TO PROPERLY MONITOR LOCAL PLAYERS. U NEED A LOCAL COACH IN THE LEAGUE TO TAKE OVER THE CHAN JOB, NOT AA. THERE ARE TONS OF OTHER REASONS AS WELL, BUT JUST MARINATE ON THIS

  2. Dr Who says:

@GH FUO,what do you get from always attacking Nyantakyi & sometimes Coach Appiah? If the GFA BUILDING did not burn when coach Milo handled both teams then it wont burn if coach Appiah does the same.If winning the AFCON is a do or die affair then ivorians should have burnt their FA long ago for not winning AFCON despite having better players than other nations within the last 10 yrs…..look sharp!

  3. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

I DONT GET ANYTHING, BUT I WISH I DID. I CRITICISE THEZE GUYS BCOS THEY NEED TO DO THEIR JOBS BETTER. MASSA, WE R NOT COTE DIVORY. I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEM. ITS BEEN 30 YRS SINCE WE WON A TROPHY AND THIS IS THE SHIT U WANT TO SAY? COMPARING GHNTO IVORY COAST? HOW MANY TROPHIES HAS IVORY COAST WON IN THOSE 30 YRS?

    • Dr Who says:

so Nyantakyi should be reponsible for our inability of not winning the cup in 30 yrs heh? have you asked yourself the question why we couldnt qualify to the WC during the era when we were winning the AFCON? its not about do or die.I cant imagine what some of you will say if we find ourselves in the shoes of Egypt,Cameroun and Senegal who were unable to even qualify for AFCON.Let appreciate what Nyantakyi and co are doing and support them and stop pressurising them with burning GFA building.

  4. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

DR. WHO…LIKE I SAID DI WO FIE ASEM AND STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE INEPTNESS OF OTHERS NATIONS. WATS THE POINT OF GOING TO WCUPS, AFCON TOURNEYS AND COMING BACK HOME EMPTY HANDED? LOOK AT THE MONEY WE SPEND GOING TO THESE COMPETITIONS, THE PLAYER BONUSES ETC? THESE NATIONS U SPEAK OF LIKE EGYPT, CAMEROON, SENEGAL ARE ACTUALLY BETTER OFF THAN US. BY NOT QUALIFYING TO AFCON OR WCUP, LOOK AT THE MONIES THEIR VARIOUS FA’S ARE SAVING? WE CAN QUALIFY TO ALL THE WCUPS WE WANT, BUT IF WE DONT BRING IN ANY TROPHIES, WAT IS THE USE? NYANTAKYI HASNT BEEN GFA HEAD FOR 30 YRS, BUT HE SHOULD BE BLAMED FOR OUR TROPHY DROUGHT SINCE HE TOOK OVER. AFTERALL, ISNT HE THE ONE WHO MAKES FINAL DECISIONS ON WHOM HE HIRES AS COACH? NYANTAKYI’S LEVEL OF INTELLIGENCE CONCERNING SOCCER IS WAHT IS BEING EXHIBITED THRU OUR VARIOUS NATIONAL TEAMS, AND OUR FAILURE TO BRING IN TROPHIES. I HATE MEDIOCRITY AND CANT APPRECIATE MEDIOCRITY. PERHAPS, DATS UR CUP OF TEA, BUT NOT MINE….THE GOAL OF SOCCER IS TO SCORE. THE GOAL OF GFA IA TO MAKE SURE ALL OUR NATIONAL TEAMS COME HOME WITH TROPHIES/SILVERWARE. ANYTHING LESS IS BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT, BULLSHIT! U CALL YOURSELF A DOC? U SHOULD KNOW BETTER, DOC…

    • kantoose says:

What do you mean by the other FA’s are saving money by not qualifying to worldcup/Afcon? Infact they are rather loosing money by not qualifying.
And what do you mean by no trophies?
in just the past 4 years, have you counted how many trophies Ghana won on all levels of football. bronze 2008 afcon, Silver 2010 afcon, U20 woldcup in 2009. Women U17 2012 bronze. I have even left some out.

      • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

KANTOOSE, WA DWEN SUA….UR MIND/THINKING IS SMALL, PEANUTS SO SHUT UP AND LISTEN. THIS IS THE AFCON WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, NOT WCUP. THERE IS A REASON WHY SOUTH AFRICAN CLUBS DONT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT CHAMIONS LEAGUE TOURNAMNTS. NO MONEY. AFRICAN NATIONS DONT GET ENUFF MONEY FROM AFCON. QUALIFYING TO THE WCUP IS WHERE THE MONEY IS AND DATS WHY NYANATKYI WILL DIE TO GET THERE….
MASSA, WE R TALKING ABOUT THE AFCON, NOT THE OTHER NATIONAL TEAMS. INFACT, SONCE NYANATKYI TOOK OVER HOW MANY NATIONAL TEAMS HAVE WON A CREDILE TROPHY FOR GH? JUST 1…U20 WCUP, SO SHUT UP. WITH THE PEDIGREE AND HISTORY WE HAVE MANAGED TO ACCUMULATE IN SOCCER, GH MUST AT LEAST APPEAR IN THE TOP FOUR OF EVERY MAJOR CONTINENTAL AND GLOBAL COMPETITION. WE DIDNT EVEN QUALIFY TO THE OLYMPICS….

IF YOU SPEND ALL THIS MONEY TO PREPARE, FLY IN PLAYERS, PAY COACHES, TECHNICAL MEN, CAMPING, JERSEYS ETC AND END UP COMING BACK WITH NO TROPHY OR MEDAL. DO YOU CONSIDER THAT A LOSS IN REVENUE OR A GAIN, KANTOOSE? U MAY AS WELL HAVE STAYED HOME AND WATCH THE TOURNAMNT ON TV…ALL WE ARE A 3RD WORLD NATION. COULD THAT MONEY BE USED TO EVEN BUILD BETTER ROADS, OUTFIT CLEAN DRINKING WATER, OR USED TO REHAB OUR AILING STADIUMS OR BUILD NEW ONES? GH CANT EVEN HOST FIFA WORLD U 17 TOURNAMNT. HOW MANY STADIUMS DO WE HAVE? YET WE SPEND ALL THIS MONEY, PLUS PLAYER BONUSES..EVEN WHEN PLAYERS DONT PERFORM…FOR WAT? THIS IS WAT I MEAN

    • Dr Who says:

It looks like you are still not getting me.read your quote ‘IF WE FAIL TO WIN THE TROPHY, NYATAKYI BETTER NOT COME TO GH. THE GFA BUILDING WILL BURN’……must you threaten him ……is it a do or die affair?

      • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

YES, IT IS A DO OR DIE AFFAIR. AFTER PLAVI WAS TERMINATED, DESAILLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE NEXT IN LINE FOR THE JOB. DESAILLY IS THE ULTIMATE PROFESSIONAL AND WILL NOT COW TOE TO NYANTAKYI AND HIS SILLY INTERFERENCE AND DEMANDS. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON WHY DESAILLY DIDNT GET THE JOB. SILAS TETTEH IS A BETTER QUALIFIED COACH THAN AA, BUT WGO ENDED UP GETTING THE NOD? AA…WE R TIRED OF THESE STUPID EXCUSES. AFTER 30YRS WITH NO AFCON TROPHY, THIS IS NYANATKYI’S LAST CHANCE. HE HAS DONE HIS BEST. EVEN PRESIDENTS SERVE FOR 8 YRS AND MOVE ON. IF WE FAIL TO WIN THE TROPHY, NYANATKYI MUST GO!

  5. kantoose says:

appiah please do your job and dont mind those headless critics.

  6. junior mafia says:

@gh fou think big..is burnin da gfa building big thinkn.make u no fool urself if u cant gv bettr criticisms gtfoh..its been da duty of da headcoach to manage da local bs too.

    • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

JNR MAFIA, ABOA FUNU LIKE UR TYPE. DID UR MOMMY PUT U IN A BABY COT WIT PILOOW AFTER U WERE BORN? SINCE NYANTAKYI TOOK OVER HE HAS BEEN MAKING BAD DECISIONS AFTER BAD DECISIONS. U SHOULD THANK PPL LIKE ME WHO CONSTANTLY COME ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS TO CHASTISE HIM. IF NOT FOR MY CONSTANT CRITICISM, MANY NEW REFORMS, CHANGES WWOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFETIME. TYPICAL GH PERSON WITH NO SENSE OF APPRECIATION. DUMB DUMMY…
FIFA HAS A LIFETIME ASSUMPTION ON THE FA HEADEE JOB. IS THIS RIGHT? EVEN PRESIDENTS GET TO RULE FOR 8 YRS AND HAVE TO MOVE ON. THE GFA HEADEE CHAIR IS STALE WITH NYANTAKYI’S BRAIN DEAD POLICIES AND H=THIS IS WHY NONE OF OUR NATIONAL TEAMS HAVE BROUGHT IN TROPHIES…WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE U20. LOOK AT THE MAFIA WAY NYANTAKYI IS RUNNING THE FA? CHOPPING GARGANTUAN MONEY FOR PRACTICALLY NO WORK DONE. WE WENT TO AFCON 2012, A TOURNAMNT WE SHOULD HAVE EASILY WON. WE FAILED BCOS THIS FOOL U ARE PROTECTING TOOK BRIBES FROM OTHERWISE, UNQUALIFIED, INJURY PRONE, HALFFIT PLAYERS. PLAVI COULDNT SAY NOTHING BCOS HE WAS ONLY THINKING ABOUT HIS PAYCHECK AND THE REST AS THEY SAY IS HISTORY….IF BURNING DOWN THE GFA BUILDING IS WAT WILL GET NYANTAKYI AND HIS CROOKS TO GTFO THEN SO BE IT…U CAN GO AND JOIN THEM IF YOU WANT. BITCH NIGGA
