Anthony Annan to sit out Tunisia friendly

Ghana will miss the services of midfielder Anthony Annan for Sunday's pre-Nations Cup warm up match against Tunisia in Abu Dhabi.

The Osasuna player is recovering from an ankle injury he sustained last Wednesday during a similar test match against Egypt.

Annan fell awkwardly when he went for a challenge in the 3-0 win over the Pharaohs and had to be replaced after just 26 minutes.

He trained alone at the Zayed Sports Complex after the Black Stars medical team worked on him.

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah says the injury is not serious and expects the hard-tackling midfielder to be fit for Nations Cup which begins next Saturday in Johannesburg.

Annan is one of the few players who have played in the last three editions of the Nations Cup.
