Angry Bofoakwa fans hold match officials hostage in Ghana's second-tier league

Match officials were held hostage in a local division one match between Bofoakwa Tano and Techiman City over the weekend.

Angry home fans threw missiles at the match officials for claim of bias officiating again their team at the Sunyani Coronation Park when the tie was 1-1

The irate fans felt frustrated with the side’s winless start to the season and vented their spleen on the match officials.

They refused to allow the centre referee and his two assistants to enter the dressing room during recess, forcing the security to move in to avoid disaster.

Some supporters sustained various degrees of injuries after both fans clashed at the venue in another shameful episode.

The Ghana FA will look into the matter to hand down punishment to the offending party.
