Andre Ayew insists Ghana must win at Togo

Ghana winger Andre Ayew insists beating Togo in Wednesday's 2015 AFCON qualifier in Lome is non-negotiable for the Black Stars.

The Black Stars head to Lome's Stade de Kégué to take on Togo's Hawks after splitting points with Uganda's Cranes at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday.

And, Olympique Marseille star Andre Ayew who ensured Ghana crawled back from a goal down after converting a penalty from the spot in the 50th minute, maintains Ghana cannot afford to drop a point in Togo.

“It was tough for us on Saturday, because the Ugandans came here with a plan to beat us, and it worked to some extent because they scored first before we equalized. They were fearless and had several shots at our goal which made us very uncomfortable”, he said.

“In all we are content with a point as it can be crucial in the buildup to who qualifies from the group. We have another match in Togo on Wednesday and that is a must win for us. Playing catch up, has its own disadvantages and we have to avoid that, before meeting Guinea.”

Togo, the host, will also be seeking victory over Ghana after slipping to a 2-1 defeat against ten-man Guinea in Casablanca on Friday in the Group E opener.
