Andre Ayew 'speechless' on Barca, Man United link

Manchester United and Barcelona’s rivalry will continue after the Champions League final as it emerged that both teams are vying for the signature of Andre Ayew, French media reports.

The 21-year-old impressed at last year’s World Cup for Ghana, as well as for Marseille in Liege 1 this season.

And the two Champions League finalists are thought to be leading the race for Ayew, son of former Ghana captain Adebi Pele, who is amazed at the interest from United and Barcelona.

“It is fantastic to hear these stories, even if it’s just through newspapers,” Ayew told skysports.com.

“I am delighted to be linked with two powerhouses of world football. It means I have improved.

“I have not got a favourite, I am just speechless!

“It would be a dream to join one of them, but I am living the dream here with Marseille as well and also looking forward to a strong finish to the season.”

Ayew’s versatility would be very attractive to both Barcelona and United, with both sides looking to re-jig their squad ahead of the new season.

During last year’s World Cup, Ayew played as a holding midfielder, but is better known for his exploits on the wing for his club Marseille, who faced United on the road to the Champions League final.

its always nice 2 see Dede been linked 2 a top clubs. I have always believed in the qualities this young boy possess. He was our best player at the world cup in SA. And @ soccernet 4 ur information dede has never play as holding midfielder b4 he is always used as a winger on either flanks or as a second striker. So soccernet get ur facts right b4 you publish ur aticle

  2. Musah Fifa says:

It is too early for Dede Ayew to leave Marseille, i think if he can hold himself for one season more with Marseille, and hope to have a good season like he has this season, i think that could help him very well.

  3. opoku afriyie richmond says:

fantastic comment BIG E you are right on Dede contribution n the role given to him at the world cup,it shows your knowledge in the game. Dede ayew has never play as a holding midfielder for any of our national teams,he is either an offensive midfielder,a winger or a supporting striker.I pray he grows to captain the senior national team like his father the great ABEDI PELE.

  4. biggy says:

dede has proved dis season that he is one of the best young players in de world. to score 10 goals as a midfielder is no mean an achievement. GO DEDE U B 2 MUCH.

  5. Adzayawo foster says:

Dede Ayew the heavenly Sky should be your limit.I think is high time you need to move from marseille to any big club like chelsea.

  6. chelsea fun says:

hell no not chelsea, for what

  7. JOSIMAR KWESU says:

Dede is great player no doubt, but i believe dat he needed atleast one or two more seasons at Merseile to improve his performances and gain more expirience.but i believe dat he’ll mature more at Merseile playing more matches than sitting ond bench if moves to any of those two big clubs there by moving his career backward.

  8. Kenneth Owusu Sabato says:

Another season at Marseille will help him a lot. Dede can play as a holding midfielder but has never done that yet. Check ur facts Ghanasoccernet.

  9. Maxwell Johnson says:

Ghanasoccernet get your facts right, the picture above is rather Andre Ayew playing for Ghana at the 2010 World Cup not the 2010 Nations Cup.You even made is worst by making readers to believe that dede has never play as a holding midfielder b4.

  10. real sabacious says:

well said ppl but i still think dede has more to learn. he still needs to improve. the possibility of him flopping in A bigger team is very very high. we dnt hv to rush the chap into anything.

  11. edward says:

what do you mean is too early, just one season more please the chance is now go get it boy the would not come for you next season,

  12. Mutary gariba says:

Guys, football is about timing, staying in france,is not a bad idea, but de problem is, there are injuries in football, besides, what shows that, he will have a good season next year,he is in his early 20,just like Messis, the Pedros and co,he’s on form,so strike the iron when it’s hot, after all, Lukaku is 17 and is being chased by the Chelseas and co,and he really wants to go,so go for it Dede!.

  13. Atindow musah says:

Dede playing for Man United may be better for you next season than playing for Barca. But chelsea or liverpool is the best for you.
