Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew is unavailable for Olympique Marseille for Friday’s Ligue 1 clash against Nantes due to injury.
The talented winger could not make a quicker-than-expected recovery from the thigh injury he picked on international duty last week.
There were reports the 24-year-old was going to be passed fit after starting training with the club’s fitness coach.
He sat out last Sunday’s 3-1 win over Bordeaux at home.
Ayew suffered a grade I muscle tear during Ghana’s 1-0 defeat to Uganda in Kampala in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
