Andre Ayew reveals how infighting and selfishness led to Marseille's disastrous showing last season
Marseille winger Andre Ayew has revealed that massive infighting, selfishness and egoism led to their disastrous showing in the French top-flight last season.
The Ghana international says the decision of his team-mates to put aside their egos has resulted in their impressive start to the season.
The Olympians have maintained a perfect run to the start of their Ligue 1 campaign winning all six opening games.
After beating the record for most consecutive losses last season, Marseille have achieved the best start in Ligue 1 history.
“Everyone wanted to achieve something for himself but this is not the case this season, we give the ball to one who is best placed and I hope it will last,” Ayew told La Provence.
Ayew has scored thrice for Marseille in their Europa League campaign and set up Jordan Ayew for his first Ligue 1 goal of the season last week.
