Ghana and Marseille midfielder Andrew Ayew lamented his sideââ¬â¢s lack of cutting edge after a 1-0 defeat to Nantes in the French Ligue 1.
Ayew who returned from a two game suspension in the loss against Nantes could not hide his disappointment as his side lost ground on league leaders à Lyon.
Coach Marcelo Bielsaââ¬â¢s side have ultimately given up the hope of winning the league after damaging defeats to PSG and now Nantes.
Ayew who has been a subject of intense transfer speculation from the Valedrome expressed his disappointment in their recent slump in form.
ââ¬ÅWe have to look forward because if we are go back and think about what we have lost we will have a headache,â⬠Ayew told reporters after the game
ââ¬ÅWe have to target a clean sweep of the last five games to make it up to our fans.
ââ¬ÅWe created opportunities but we couldnââ¬â¢t score and that is unacceptable.
ââ¬ÅFor me it will be a shame to finish the season badly.ââ¬
The defeat means Marseille are over taken by Monaco on third place with five games to end the season.
