Ghana winger Andre Ayew hit top form in the French top-flight on Friday night 24 hours before his arrival to face Uganda and Togo in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The talented player set up a goal for Marseille in their most impressive performance of the new Ligue 1 season to convincingly beat Nice 4-0 at the Stade Velodrome.

Dimitri Payet scored either side of Florian Thauvin's strike, before Abdel Barrada added a late fourth as the hosts won successive matches, after picking up just one point from their first two games.

Thauvin, who was linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer, twice went close before doubling Marseille's advantage from Andre Ayew's cross a minute before the break.

Thauvin seeing a goalbound shot cleared away by a defender before doubling his side's lead on the stroke of half-time with a close-range finish from Ayew's cutback.

This could be Ayew's last match for the club as English sides are in hunt to sign him before the transfer window shuts tomorrow.

He is expected to arrive in Ghana for the matches against Uganda and Togo by Monday night.
