Ghana star Andre Ayew has dedicated his sublime strike for Olympique Marseille in their 2-0 win at Lorient to club Sporting Director Jose Anigo his support.
The 23-year-old scored his debut goal of the season for Les Olympians with a second-half stoppage-time artistic finish at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir as Elie Baup side went joint-top on the log.
Starting along his junior brother Jordan, Andre was Marseille’s livewire in the game and consistently pressurize the host creating opportunities for his colleagues before eventually netting his season’s first.
After 628 minutes of goal drought, the Black Stars winger finally found the back of the net racing free to fire a low drive that went between the legs of Fabien Audard – the Lorient goalkeeper.
Andre felt indebted to Marseille Sporting Director Jose Anigo and dedicated his goal to him after the game.
“I dedicate my goal to him [Jose Anigo] who backed me during very difficult times,” he said after the game.
Andre was voted the most valuable player of the game.
