Andre Ayew begins full scale training; hands Marseille injury boost

Posted On Friday, 11th January 2013

Andre Ayew is back in training for Marseille

Andre Ayew has begun full scale training at Marseille ahead of Sunday’s French Ligue 1 visit to Sochaux.

The Ghana international suffered a hamstring injury last week in training and was ruled out for a few days.

The 23-year-old joined his teammates on Friday morning and should be named in the squad.

Marseille are also welcoming back Morgan Amalfitano and Lucas Mendes from injury.

“There were players in question since the beginning of the week but for the first time today (Friday), they returned to the group,” Marseille coach Elie Baup said.

“But whether they will be fully available for the match against Sochaux on Sunday and including AndrĂ© Ayew, We’ll see tomorrow (Saturday)

“But it is obvious that it is almost three weeks since the break and he did not have a lot of training sessions.”

Ayew’s injury led to his exclusion from the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

He scored five goals in 18 appearances in the French Ligue 1 before the winter break.

Bad Attitude Dede faked the injury as expected11

      Do you have reading problem?

    • ---- says:

This Ghanaman really got issues with Ayew. Don’t worry, maybe in you next life you would be able to achieve 1/4 of his achievements before you are 70 years old. You idiot. The message from OM to GFA said he was to be out for 5 days. Are you chowderheaded? Tell me that then 5 days have not yet elapsed. He only wanted to stay and be treated. The hater of a coach saw it as a good opportunity to get rid of a pest. It’s like ” give a dog a bad name n hang it”

    • say it loud says:

Truth Stands. When Dede said he was seeing his doctor the coach hastily dropped him. Now you are deceiving yourselves that he faked injury.you can tickle yourself and laugh but it will not help you. You can hate him with all your might but who God bless no man curses. Now the whole world has seeing the truth. Personal hatred for the boy who always gives more than 100% for his country. Fools

  4. tiger says:

Dede or whatever you call yourself you are a fool. Don’t think you can play your trick with the wise people of Ghana. You fake your injury. You must be very careful or other your fake injury can curse you! I lost my love for you coz of ur pride and arrogant! Stupid fool

  5. salifu says:

Hello pals. Lets be fair to both Dede and our coach. They are both right in my opinion and Ghana will be the winner. I love to see Dede play everyday for Black stars but I am not the coach and must respect his judgement. Thanks for all the great comments. Let’s keep getting better. Ghana all the way with or without Dede or AA.

  6. mukmin says:

Ghanaman u need to see a psychiatrist Dede is not the source of your issues you need to find out what the underling problem is. A shrink can help u.

  7. Gimli says:

I think it’s time that we all put this story behind. The kick off is approaching and the Black Stars need their supporters behind them, united! I’m sure that in the near future, Dede and the coach will get together and every shadow of misunderstanding(if any) will be eclipsed. I personally don’t believe any theory, involving hatred on behalf of the coach, towards the Ayew family or vice versa. But even if this was the case, i don’t think there is a coach who’d be that stupid to risk his career and reputation over such an obstinacy! As for Andre, he has always been commited to the Black Stars, displaying a team spirit, with complete lack of selfishness, both on and off the pitch. If anyone in doubt, just watch any of his games with the national team. The fact that he is dribbling is completely understandable. He is a winger, so he has to dribble. If he couldn’t, he’d be a DM or a goalkeeper :) Moreover, he always knows when to pass or shoot. And above all, he is a leader and his mental state is hard as a rock, a winner’s mentality! Maybe he got a little frustrated by Jordan’s omission. I don’t know, we can only speculate. It is obvious to me that he loves so much his brother that he wants to see him succeed with the BS. Maybe, he got to the point to unconsciously patronise him, out of love for him. Maybe everything is a bit vague inside his head and he needs some kind of help to clear things up. In the meantime, let’s not forget that he was not fully fit, having missed a lot of training sessions in Marseille, as the French coach said himself. And then came the injury. What i liked about Appiah in this case, is that he took a qick decision. He didn’t linger at all. And that was the best thing to do as he has a tournament to prepare. Let’s keep in mind that a national team is like any other football team with some differences. For example, as a coach, you have the task to prepare the team in a short amount of time. And each time is a different story, with new players coming in. Every time, you need to build a team’s behavior from scratch. And this is a very difficult thing to achieve. Maybe Appiah didn’t want the team to trail behind an Ayew Saga for long and risk the bond of the other team members. Psychology is crucial in these cases. And yes, obviously he wanted to show that in any case, the team comes first! Having said that, i’m sure the two of them will get together after the tournament and they’ll find the better solution. For the sake of all.

    • say it loud says:

The problem is that the coach took the decision too hastily. he could have consulted Dede’s doctors before jumping to his stupid decision. it only proves that he was waiting for an excuse to drop the second Ayew. Do not try to fool any body with your childish psychology. The die is cast and we must live with the consequence. As somebody said a half fit Dede is better than some fully fit bench warming guys currently in the BS. period

  8. Spyway says:

Watever the situation guyz let not be thinking of the past. Lets focus on what is ahead if we want to go forward. Whether dede faked his injury or appiah hated the boy would not make ghana win the trophy.afterall there are other players who can play in his absence and the game against egypt proves that

  9. barriester says:

the coach’s decision was a hasty one. we have one complete week to the start of the tournament and Dede is now fully fit. this bad decion will coruse the team in the tournament cos Dedes never say die attitude on the pitch alone even ignites some players to play more even when they are unwilling to.
