Anderlecht considering a move for Michael Anaba

Belgium giants are considering making an offer to sign Ghana U20 midfielder Michael Anaba, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 19-year-old has been tracked by the Purple and whites for sometime now and are readying to table an offer to Asante Kotoko for their player.

The deal is however largely dependent on whether Anderlecht can secure the services of their preferred target; Thorgan Harzard – the younger borther of Eden Hazard who is also a Chelsea player.

Anaba played for Ghana at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup where he struggled to land a permanent role in the team.

He however came back strongly to captain the side in the semi final defeat to France as Ghana finished the competition in third place.

If successful, Anaba will join compatriot Frank Acheampong who is expected to feature prominently for Anderlecht in the coming season.

  1. Andrew in Nigeria says:

Anaba is a good central midfielder. He was used in an unfamiliar wide position at the U-20 tournaments. Unfortunately, most Ghanaians who’ve never watched him play for Kotoko judge him by a 3-week tournament.
Anderlecht is a good club in a recognized league. I pray they follow up their interest so he can link up with Frank Acheampong.

  2. GH Panther says:

true dat, Andrew. Anaba did not hv a great tournament and event yet, it was not all terrible.Even had a goal. Blame borbor for playn players out of position due to suspensions which was costly. Hope he gets a gud deal. I really don’t knw how kotoko will fare in the caf champions league with so many key players leaving. hmm.
