Anderlecht complete loan deal for Ghana 'Messi' Acheampong

Frank Acheampong being unveiled by Anderlecht

Belgian champions Anderlecht have completed the loan signing of talented Ghana midfielder Frank Acheampong.

The 19-year-old joins from Thai Premier League side Buriram United for the rest of the season with an option of a permanent deal in the summer.

In November last year, the hugely talented player was assessed by Scottish Premier League Celtic but coach Neil Lennon.

The Ghana U20 star made a shock move to Asia in 2011 from Ghanaian giants Berekum Chelsea.

Acheampong made his Ghana debut in August this year in the 1-1 draw with China where he was handed a starting role.

He scored 12 goals for Buriram United in all competitions last season and in 2011 was voted the Thai Premier League Best Player.

WHy the hell do Ghanaians always end up in the stupidest countries when it comes to professional football? I really don’t understand why one would even consider playing for a club in Thailand of all places.. If he’s such a talent I really hope he leaves a great impression and that Anderlecht offers him a permanent deal in the end!
