Amidaus goalkeeper denies nature's call story

Amidaus Professionals goalkeeper Eric Antwi has denied reports that he suffered from a stomach upset and had to attend nature’s call during Saturday’s league match against RTU.

The publication claimed the match was barely 30 minutes old when the incident occurred, forcing referee Prince Tawiah to stop proceedings.

The match was halted for close to five minutes but the Antwi has denied his decision to storm off the pitch had nothing to do with his health.

Antwi told Storm FM: “I wouldn’t have felt shy to admit if I actually did what has been speculated in the media but that said incident didn’t happen and I don’t know why people have written that about me without finding out.

“It is true that I went to the dressing room but it was the referee who spotted that I wore white underwear and it had begun to show up so he told me to go and change it because it could conflict with the opponent’s jersey which was a same colour.

“I then rushed to the dressing room upon his permission to change it but when I was returning to the pitch I heard some jeers and laughing from the fans but I didn’t know what actually the reason was.

“A friend called me today to tell me what he has read in the news but as I said it is not true.”

Amidaus Professionals beat Real Tamale United 3-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

journalism to the dogs. u publish a story without cross checking from the person involved.

  2. kwame-blz says:

Base on your answer to the story, it says it all that this goalie is not telling the truth tho he said he aint shy about the situation but can’t you change on the field, somebody going to the locker room to get you what to change in and not to stop the game 3ominutes into it. And the ref did not spot it till then? why are you lying??

  3. nyantakyi says:

it may be true, b’cos if somebody is suffering from stomach upset why shd he spend only 4mins on de toilet? dis is not logical.

  4. Dr Who says:

The referee should come on this issue.I believe the player‘s side of the story because the referee wont allow him to change his underwear on the field of play.secondly,4 mins wont be enough for the player to download everything in his congested belly if he indeed had a stomach upset.
