All Stars 'cage' Heart of Lions in Wa

Wa All Stars celebrating after beating Hearts of Oak last year

A 13th minute strike from Prince Attakora-Gyimah gave All Stars a 1-0 victory over Heart of Lions at the Wa Park on Sunday.

All Stars were threatened by relegation and were mindful of the need to beat Lions to avoid the fate of dropping into the relegation zone. 

With goalkeeper Robert Dabuo departed to AshantiGold, new shot-stopper Richard Ofori was bought and he was able to keep a clean sheet on his debut.

All Stars piled early pressure but an outstanding performance by Nana Bonsu, the Heart of Lions of Lions goalkeeper, denied them on three occasions.

This was before Attakora-Gyimah, the former Hearts of Oak striker, put Lions to the sword.

Lions after the break did all within their powers but failed to equalise.
