Alhaji Moro Akanbi dethroned as Hearts of Oak supporters wing chairman

Barima Atuahene has toppled Alhaji Moro Akanbi as chairman of the supporters wing (National Chapters Committee) of Hearts of Oak.

Atuahene, who is chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Chapters Committee (RCC) , polled 146 votes to emerge winner in the fiercely contested elections held at the YMCA Hall in Accra.

He was closely followed by Mohammed Alhassan, who polled 136 votes, while incumbent Alhaji Akanbi emerged a distant third with 104 votes.

Other officers elected were Lawrence Ofosu Adjare, the new first vice chairman, who stood unopposed for the positon.

Outspoken Maxwell Yaw Adu-Asabere’s 136 votes were not enough to edge Vicentia Deku, who polled 236 votes, as second vice chairperson.

Madam Gifty Addy won the race for the financial secretary with 243 votes ahead of Joel Armah, who had 128 votes.

Nathaniel Dodoo with 195 also beat incumbent Eddie Palmer who secured 177 to the General Secretary role.

About 153 out of the 178 Chapters across the country, showed up at the congress.
