Al Nasr told to pay US$ 450,000 for striker Otoo

Posted On Wednesday, 3rd October 2012

Mahatma Otoo could move to UAE side Al Nasr

Hearts of Oak are demanding US$ 450,000 from United Arab Emirates Al Nasr for the services of striker Mahatma Otoo.

The Dubai-based Etisalat Pro League side are offering US$ 300,000 for the former Ghana Under-20 skipper.

The issue will be discussed at the club’s board meeting on Thursday to decide whether he will be released or not.

“Their (Al Nasr) offer is not bad but we can’t let go of Mahatma because he is one of the proven stars we will be counting on to win the Glo League next season so whoever wants him must be prepared to pay more for his services,”  a source said.

Otoo was recently appointed captain of Hearts of Oak for the 2012/2013 season.

Hearts, retain the player for now for the coming league season. There is no need to demand US $ 450,000. There will be better contracts for Mahatma Otoo. Hearts, stop this thing. Hearts need to win this year’s league. No games now, the fans are wild. Be careful.

  2. MICHAEL says:

Hearts of Oak stop the pretence. Everybody knows that at the end of the day Mahatma Otoo will be sold. The club badly needs the cash ‘cos Hearts is seriously in the RED. They should stop throwing dust in the eyes of the public with the explanation that “The issue will be discussed at the club’s board meeting on Thursday to decide whether he will be released or not”.
And after he has been sold lets see what will happen to the money.

  3. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

    QUALITY OF PREMIER LEAGUE
GFA GFA NEEDS TO PUT CERTAIN RESTRICTION IN PLACE TO KEEP THE TALENT IN GH. OTHERWISE, THEY WILL ALL LEAVE AS SOON AS THEY R HOT.
THISTHIS WILL DILUTE THE QUALITY OF OUR LEAGUE. HOW CAN A GH CLUB EQUAL THE SUCCESS OF CLUBS IN EGYPT OR S AFRICA IF ALL OUR PLAYERS ARE LEAVING
    GH EARLY?
GFA SHOULD INSTITUTE A NEW RULING TO HELP KEEP QUALITY PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE LONGER. ALL LOCAL PLAYERS MUST PLAY A MIN OF 3 YRS IN THE PREMIER
LEAGUE BEFORE THEY R ELIGIBLE TO BE SOLD TO A FOREIGN CLUB. EVERY LOCAL CLUB MUST
ALSO HAVE A QUOTA/ALLOW 3 FOREIGN PLAYERS IN THEIR TEAM.
ANOTHER WAY NYANTAKYI HAS FAILED. WE HAVE MUSHROOM CLUBS SPRINGING UP FROM ANYWHERE. WHY DO WE HAVE 2 CLUBS IN BRONG AHAFO?
GFA MUST LOOK AT POPULATION, COMPETITION, INFRATSRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT, LOCAL ECONOMY ETC
BEFORE GRANTING OWNERS A LICENSE OR ACCESS TO STARTING A SOCCER CLUB OTHERWISE THEY WILL SUFFER BCOS OF A LACK OF A FAN BASE.
THE FIFA CLUB LICENSING SYSTEM was approved at the FIFA Congress in Munich in 2006 and since then FIFA has asked national associations to reform.
WE ARE NOW IN 2012, AND IT IS NOW THAT NYANTAKYI WANTS TO IMPLEMENT THIS IN GH. CLUBS IN PREMIER, AND DIV MUST BE
TASKED WITH PROVIDING PLAYER HEALTH INSURANCE AS THEY DO OVERSEAS, OTHERWISE GH SOCCER
WILL CONTINUE TO WADE N WALLOW IN MEDIOCRITY AND THE HEALTH OF THE PLAYERS WILL SUFFER.

THE QUALITY OF THE LEAGUE IS BASED ON THE STARS IN THE LEAGUE. AFFUM,CLOTTEY, BAFFOUR, AWAL, AND NOW ADJEI, FRIMPONG, OTOO ARE
ALL PLANNING ON LEAVING. HOW WILL THE LEAGUE BE ENTERTAINING AND COMPETITIVE OUTSIDE THE SHORES OF GH?
