Al Dhafra coach Abdullah Misfir is delighted Emmauel Clottey has regained his self confidence after the Ghana striker grabbed a hat-trick in Friday’s 4-3 win over Al Ain in the UAE Arabian Gulf League.
Clottey replaced Ali Al Hammadi before the start of the second half and he took ten minutes to announce his presence with a double in 56th and 62nd minutes respectively.
It was Al Dhafra’s first win of the campaign and have now amassed four points in three games.
“To win against a team like Al Ain for us is a big achievement,” Misfir said.
“I am very happy with all the players, particularly for Clottey, because he was a bit low on confidence before this game.
“I hope he can take this new-found confidence forward.”
Clottey has struggled to find the form which saw him bang in 12 goals in the 2012 CAF Champions League for Berekum Chelsea.
He moved to Tunisian side Esperance side in a Ghanaian record transfer fee of US$ 1.5 million dollars but could not make an impact.
