Many have since called on the Ghana FA to hand the ex Asante Kotoko defender a fresh deal following his success in qualifying Ghana to next yearââ¬â¢s World Cup in Brazil.
The Ghana FA however appear to be stalling with Appiahââ¬â¢s current contract set to expire kimberly oja pokies after the World Cup.
But Appiah insists he is desperate to secure an extension with his focus fully on preparing the side for the finals.
ââ¬ÅI am not agitating for a contract extension now,â⬠he told GTVââ¬â¢s Stage Africa show.
ââ¬ÅThe Ghana Football Association is yet to speak to me about it but my focus now is preparing the team to do well at the World Cup. If they approach me, fine by me.ââ¬
Ghana were impressive during the qualifiers as they blew away some of the best teams on the African continent.
The Black Stars will be facing Germany, Portugal and USA in Group G at next yearââ¬â¢s finals in Brazil.
