Hearts of Oak fans are seeking to elect new leaders

Three Hearts of Oak faithful, Mohammed Alhassan, Barimah Atuahene, and the incumbent National Chapters Committee (NCC) chairman, Alhaji Moro Akanbi, are going to contest the chapter committee chairmanship.

Delegates are expected to converge for their conference on June 7, 2014, at which one of the three men will be elected.

Atuahene, a former Regional Chapter Chairman (RCC) chairman, and Alhassan, the current National Organiser, are the only executive members who have picked nomination forms to challenge Alhaji Akanbi, whose tenure expired in the 2011/12 season.

As of press time yesterday, it was unclear whether incumbent second vice chairman, Abdul Aziz Futah, would seek re-election, as he was yet to pick nomination forms.

However, the president of Hearts Ladies, Vincentia Deku, and National Organiser, Ismail Ali Horoya, have picked nomination forms to contest for the position of the second vice chairmanship.

The Public Relations Officer of Hearts, Muheeb Saeed, told Daily Graphic that after their stakeholders meeting last Wednesday, it was decided that the deadline for filing of nominations should be pushed to May 12.

Consequently, he has advised that each Chapter would be admitted to the conference only when they had paid GH¢50 aside the requirements from the regions.

He added that only three delegates would be admitted from each Chapter, explaining that stakeholders had postponed the conference from May 24 to June 7, to allow for the completion of the season.
