Airtel presents cash prize to victorious Ghana team in inaugral African championships

Airtel have presented the $10,000 cash reward to the Inter Royals Football Club for winning the the inaugural African championship earlier this year.

The telecommunication firm also presented a Ghc 5000 cash prize to Priscilla Okyere for leading the Ghana U-17 women’s team to a bronze medal feat at the FIFA World Cup in Azerbaijan.

“I can’t thank Airtel a lot for what they have done for me and the role they have played in my career,” Okyere, one of the numerous talents unearthed after the first season of the domestic Airtel Rising Stars competition said at the brief presentation ceremony.

“I promise that I will always be part of Airtel.”

The Ghana team (Inter Royal FC) beat hosts Kenya 2-1 to lift the inaugural Airtel Rising Stars African championships back in August.

Airtel also presented a combined cash and football kits reward worth Ghc 10,000 to the National Juvenile Committee of the Ghana FA.
