Asante Kotoko's Ivorian hit-man Ahmed Toure has issued a grovelling apology to Hearts of Oak fans for his goal celebration which has infuriated the Phobians faithfuls.

The 26-year-old raced to the Hearts section in the supporters and made gestures that suggested that he has scored against them as he had scored the opening goal for Kotoko in their 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak in an off-season friendly on Monday evening.

Hearts fans took to various media platforms to register their anger about Toure's celebration style and 'deliberately' angering them.

But the striker claims his celebration style was not targeted at the Hearts of Oak fans.

"I didn't celebrate with any bad intention. I apologise to the Hearts fans and management for my celebration if it offended them," he told Accra-based Oman FM.

Toure's line with Hearts fans is expected to get longer after the latest incident after he trained and scored in a game for the former African champions before swerving them to join Kotoko in a move that shocked and pained the Phobians.
