Smouha’s Ghanaian hotshot Samuel Affum revealed his ambition to play for Egyptian league champions Ahli, but conceded that a deal with the Reds is far from being agreed.
Affum, 23, is believed to be a primary transfer target for Ahli, who are currently in the market for new players ahead of the Champions League group stage next month.
“Ahli is always a gateway to Europe. Any player in the Egyptian league would love to join Ahli,” the prolific striker told FilGoal.com.
“But I am surprised with people claiming I have agreed terms with Ahli.”
Affum, who notched seven goals out of Smouha’s 15 last season, scored a brilliant goal against Ahli when the Alexandrians lost 3-1 in Cairo back in January.
He has a contract until the summer of 2014 with league minnows Smouha.
WHY WASNT HE CALLED BY COACH APPIAH?
Yes Affum has really improved as a striker, damn you need to watch him play. He has pace, skill and technique. Has the ability to take on his markers with ease and can score some breathtaking GOALS as well. He was in devastating form before the cancellation of the Egyptian league season where he scored 7 times in 8 games, they call him the JET in Egypt due to his enormous pace and skill. Kudos Sammy, keep on making your former club H.O.O proud we love you boy.
