Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu was in action for  Udinese who posted a 3-2 win over an under-performing Liverpool side at Anfield in the Europa League on Thursday.

The 21-year-old midfield workhorse lasted the entire duration of the match for Francesco Guidolin’s side who stunned the Reds at their own backyard.

He tailored a defence-splitting pass for Antonio Di Natale who played through Giovanni Pasquale to seal the points for Les Zebrettes in the 72nd minute.

Jonjo Shelvey put Liverpool in the driving seat in the 23rd minute with a fine opener but Antonio Di Natale cancelled it out a minute after the interval.

Sebastian Coates gifted the lead to the Italians after scoring an own-goal before Giovanni Pasquale claimed the match winner for Udinese.

Luiz Suarez’s 75th minute wonderful free-kick was not enough to help Liverpool escape the defeat.

Agyemang-Badu has been nominated for the Caf African Player of the Year award.
