Fifa have shortlisted Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu's goal for Ghana against Guinea in the 2012 Nations Cup for the Puskas Goal of the Year Award.

The 21-year-old is battling nine other nominees including; Brazilian wunderkind Neymar, Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, legend Lionel Messi and six other players for the award.

The ball-battling workaholic midfielder scored the opening goal for the Black Stars in the 28th minute with a ferocious drive at Stade de Franceville in a Group game that ended one-all.

Badu latched onto a Samuel Inkoom pass from inside of inside the box before blasting a 25 yards powerful drive home for Ghana.

Fifa have selected the top ten goals within the 2012 calender year and the players with the highest votes will win the award.

"This is a big recognition from Fifa and I'm very excited about it and I hope I win," Badu told Ghanasoccernet.com

Brazil's Neymar won the award last year.
