Liberty Professionals goalkeeper Daniel Agyei remains confident of making Ghana’s squad for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 22-year-old is one of few local players expected to make the cut in the 23-man squad to be announced by Coach Goran Stevanovic in Accra on December 15.
And after deputizing Richard Kingson at last year’s World Cup in South Africa, Agyei says he will be shocked if he is dropped for the finals to be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
“In Ghana I am the best and everyone knows that so I don’t see why I won’t be in the squad,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“I am very confident of my chances and even today I proved why I deserve to be there with a clean sheet against Hearts of Oak.”
Players, administrators and the general Ghanaian public are awaiting anxiously for the December 15 Press Conference at the Ghana FA Headquarters where Stevanovic is expected to name his squad for the Afcon.
are u deciding 4 ur self, concerntrate and stop talking.
thanks for this comment… Looks like this young man is forgetting that consistency is key as against cheap talk
If he was the best as he claims… Liberty will have the least goals conceived in the league BUT that is not the case
Agyei focus on helping Liberty and stop your cheap low shots ok
You will sure make it boy.
Focus and put ur trust in God. He will provide for u wa te?
stop include ur self else u’ll have broken heart……
I don’t agree with u Oky.
Twice gold for ghana means he’s good. If Liberty doesn’t score that’s not his problem he’s just a goalkeeper. He has a clean sheet nd being on assignment for blackstars etc makes their 2nd goalie catch and if he fail liberty will drop down. So kmt and give this gentlemen credit as he deserves.
Some stupidity among Ghanaians thinking they know it all.
Konfidence is wat a GK needs n u and Adam av dat so da coach shld chose wise nd pick u2 alongside Enerst!
U r going cos of ur father. U r neva è best local stoper
who is his father and what amount of imfluence does he have in player selection? Eii! Ghana football! Things are really becoming interesting.
Whose da boys fada? I know his fada 2 be an old man minding his businness nd crying over the death of 1 of his sons. Infact Agyei u did well yesterday. Even after losin ur bro last week u still performed.
Keepitup. The futcha is bryt 4 u.
Kwamema, I agree with u.U can’t use liberty to judge Agyei. What else do Ghanaians want this boy to prove? He was at the last Afcon and the just ended Snr World Cup. U can’t do away with such a Keeper!Any coach who will do that doesn’t know wha he is about. He is Kwarasey’s deputy. PERIOD! It is Ernest Sowah that u guys must complain about. What International exposure has he got? Nil
Time for Ghana coaches to start looking at players who are playing regularly for their clubs-whether in Ghana or abroad-and stop selecting benchers. Why should Badu be selected over Tawric Djibril,Eric Gyamfi-who had an excellent AAAGames in Maputo-Quansah of Heracles. What on earth is Pantsil still doing in the Ghana squad when he cannot even make the starting 11 of a second division team, especially when you have two upcoming wonderful players in that position? Why is John Mensah-because of injuries cannot make Lyon”s starting 11-and Jon Mensah-who is struggling to get playing time with a little newly promoted club doing in the national? What on earth is Tagoe and Adiyiah, whom i thought would have improved by now, doing in the squad? It is time to start trying out new people who are playing regularly for their clubs-whether in the Motherland or further afield-and stop wasting time with injury proned and bench warming players.Come on Ghana, enough is enough.
@ boyb u have said it all. May GOD BLESS U. I JUX LYK UR COMMENT
