Switzerland-based striker Samuel Afum sent a reminder of his magnificent attacking form in the Swiss Super League by scoring the opener for Young Boys in their 4-2 defeat to FC Zurich on Sunday afternoon.

The attacker highlighted his devastating form by grabbing the first goal for Young Boys who threw away their early lead to succumb to a 4-2 home defeat to visiting Zurich at the Stade de Suisse Wankdorf.

Boys were hoping register their second straight win but a resilient Zurich side recovered from an Afum sixth minute opener to stun them 4-2.

Midfielder Rapha Nuzzolo missed his kick and Afum was on point to show him how to do it.

He latched onto the ball and proded the ball home with a clinical finish to record his fourth goal of the season.

The 22-year-old was snubbed by Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah for the upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifying double-header against Sudan and Lesotho.

Afum lasted the entire duration of the match.

Greedy bastards, only thinking about their pockets and not Mother Ghana. Fire will burn them all! How on earth can a coach overlook a striker who has scored 4 goals in such a few matches to the one who has scored 4 all season. That is the striking difference b/n Affum and Adiyiah. Aaba! GH. why wouldn’t we say u guys are taking bribes. God is watching!

  6. Alfred mc-kenzie says:

I wonder why coach appiah snubbed afun and godfred saka!afun has scored 4goals in six matches with six assist whilst adiyah scored 4goals in a whole season so coach appiah should come.afun played for the national under 23 at age 19 so he can still switch nationality to play for switzerland and should do so when the swiss comes knocking.
