Former Stars coach Afranie believes Kwesi Appiah can ended Ghana's trophiless run

Former Ghana coach Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie is backing Kwesi Appiah to end Ghana’s 31-year-old trophiless hoodoo.

The Black Stars have failed to win the Nations Cup in 17 attempts after lifting the trophy in 1982 in Ethiopia.

Ghana have reached the semi-finals in the past three editions but failed to win the title.

“Kwesi has the backing of all the local coaches because he listens and I believe that if we do things right, we will win the trophy,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.

The Black Stars defeated Egypt 3-0 in a warm-up game in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
