Afful aids Esperance to bag crucial league win

Harrison Afful played a key role in Esperance's 2-1 win at ASM

Ghana defender Harrison Afful came off the bench to provide the assist for Esperance’s winner in their 2-1 triumph at Avenir de La Marsa in the Tunisian Premier League.

Afful replaced captain Wajdi Bouazzi on 67 minutes and was assigned as a right-winger with the match delicately poised at 1-1.

The former Asante Kotoko wing-back made a surging run on the flanks before whipping in a cross for Yannick N’Djeng to turn in for clincher in the 72nd minute.

Esperance now have a two-point lead at the top of the table with three matches to end the season.

Afful’s compatriot and new signing Emmanuel Clottey was an unused substitute.
