Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has hailed the determination of the side in the nervy 2-1 win over South Africa on Tuesday.

The Black Stars came from a goal down to beat the a spirited Bafana Bafana in Mongomo to book their place in the quarter finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Goals from John Boye and Andre Ayew handed Ghana the vital win having gone behind early in the game to a Mandla Masango strike.

Agyemang-Badu who came on as a second half substitute to good effect says the team couldn’t have been denied the win for the sheer determination they showed on the field of play.

“We played the game with a lot of determination, as you could see we played most of the second half in their half and we got the result for it,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“We are so happy that we are through to the quarter finals and now we just have to relax and wait for our next opponent.”

Ghana thus progresses as winners of Group C with the win over South Africa.

The Black Stars will now await the results of the final games in Group D to know their quarter final opponent.
