Home-based Ghana goalkeeper Stephen Adams has been advised by national team goalkeepers’ trainer Nassamu Yakubu to aim at playing abroad.

Adams put up a good showcase at the just ended 2014 African Nations Championship in South Africa and was rewarded with a Black Stars call-up.

He is part of the 21-man squad invited for the pre-World Cup friendly against Montenegro on 5 March.

Some weeks ago, the Aduana Stars gloves man was linked with Absa Premiership side Golden Arrows.

The 2010 Ghana Premier League best goalkeeper has been told to cash in on his impressive form now by moving abroad.

“Football in recent times is what gets into your pocket and me telling Stephen Adams not to go is difficult. Maybe I can’t keep him well here nor can Aduana Stars keep him well here,” Yakuju told AllSports.com.gh

“If they look at players who have retired without anything in their pocket, it makes the young once desperate to go abroad for better offers. So I think his move will be good.”
