Aduana Stars coach Kwabena Ameyaw has blamed goalkeeper Stephen Adams for his side’s 3-1 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Asante Kotoko on Friday.

The soft-spoken trainer believes the Ghana international errors cost them their first ever Cup final and revenge the 2011 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Adams committed an early howler when he failed to deal with a cross from the left and was nearly punished by the Porcupine Warriors but Prince Baffoe and Dauda Mohammed were not clinical.

However, he was beaten by a thunderbolt from long range from Christopher Bonney which Ameyaw thought he could have done better.

The 2014 CHAN star gave away a free-kick when he fouled Mohammed close to the box and that afforded Michael Akuffo to blast home for the third goal.

"To be fair, there was nothing he could have done about the second goal which was a penalty, but I feel that both the first and the last goals could have been avoided had he kept his composure," Ameyaw said post-match.

"I know it's teamwork and that the entire team should be held responsible for the defeat, but for me he didn’t organize the defence well and that made the defenders commit some mistakes."
