Adiyiah patient with go-slow career

Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah believes he can realize his future ambitions despite a "go-slow" club career.

The 20-year-old shot into global recognition after winning the Top scorer and Most Valuable Player Awards at the 2009 Fifa Under-World Cup but he is yet to make a mark abroad.

He signed for AC Milan but failed to command a first team place and has joined Serie B side Reggina on loan to start of fresh note.

"I also had great expectation when the Milan deal was sealed," he told Graphic Sports. "I was eager to play at that level but the reality is that it may take a while, not too long though."

"I have come to understand that big teams like Milan are always hungry for success. They are eager to snatch the young potentials ahead of the others and groom them to their demands," he pointed out.

"The challenge for me is AC Milan is a star studded side. I need time to get to that level. That can't be achieved overnight. But I have to state that I do not regret the decision to join AC Milan."

Adiyiah was a member of Ghana's squad that reached the last eight of the World Cup finals and was also a member of Black Stars team that were losing finalists at this year's Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
