Mother of Togolese football star Emmanuel Adebayor mourned with Asamoah Gyan and his family on Sunday.

Madam Alice Adebayor drove into town from her Togo base to represent her son in paying respect to the grieving family.

Asamoah Gyan who will be captaining Ghana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations lost her mother in a tragic motor accident last Tuesday.

Many have since thronged the Gbawe residence of the deceased to show solidarity.

Madam Adebayor was thus doing same on behalf of her son who is very good friends with the Gyans.

She signed the book of condolence and shared some words of encouragement with the grieving family.

"I came here to represent my son Emmanuel Adebayor to mourn with you during this difficult time," she said.

"I would like you to be rest assured that thou our mother and sister is gone, she is at a safe place with the Lord."

The Gyans in return thanked Madam Adebayor for her presence.

The Family will be marking one-week of the death of their beloved Cecelia Mensah Gyan on Tuesday.
