The mother of Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has denied using black magic 'juju' against the Togo international to bring his career to an abrupt end.
A bitter family dispute erupted last week when Alice Adeabyor told a Ghanaian radio station that her son is refusing to look after her following a recent standoff.
The dispute escalated when the former Arsenal striker accused his mother of trying to use black magic, known as 'juju' locally, to bring his career to an end.
Alice says the radio discussions on the matter is further driving a wedge between the two while vowing that she will never embark on any mission to destroy her own son.
ââ¬ÅWhy would I do such a thing to my son, I never put juju on Adebayor and all those things people are assaying are also to make matters worse between my son and I," Alice Adebayor told a local radio station in Accra where she resides with the rest of her family.
ââ¬ÅI have nothing more to say or any explanation to give.
"All I want to say is that God Himself will be the judge of this case because my name is being ruined and I canââ¬â¢t go about stating my defense to everyone, so I leave everything to God.ââ¬
The Tottenham striker is angry over claims that his mother tried to cast a spell on him to bring his career to an end.
ââ¬ÅHow am I going to be in touch with my mum if my mum is the one telling everyone that my work will not go forward, so I will just be on my side and do my thing,â⬠the Tottenham striker said.
ââ¬ÅThey should stop talking, they should stop doing Juju on me, and they should leave me alone.ââ¬
Adeabyor has not been impressive in recent matches for the English side which has sparked suspicion that the juju is working against him.
