Ghana defender David Addy starred in Vitoria Guimaraes’ 2-1 win over Setubal on Friday.

The 22-year-old played the full game at his favourite left-back position.

Goals from Marcelo Toscano and Joao Ribeiro proved too strong for the visiting Setubal who got a consolation from a spot kick through Albert Meyong.

The win now sees Guimaraes push up to fourth in the Portuguese top flight with games yet to be played on Saturday and Sunday.

Addy has got his club career back on track since arriving from champions Porto at the beginning of the season.

He had struggled to get a look-in under Vitor Pereira and as a result was farmed out on loan twice to Academic Coimbra and Panetolikos.

The return to regular first team action for the ex All Stars player has seen him secure a return to the Ghana national team.
