Addy gets full game in Guimaraes' win over Setubal

David Addy in goal celebration with teammates

Ghana defender David Addy starred in Vitoria Guimaraes’ 2-1 win over Setubal on Friday.

The 22-year-old played the full game at his favourite left-back position.

Goals from Marcelo Toscano and Joao Ribeiro proved too strong for the visiting Setubal who got a consolation from a spot kick through Albert Meyong.

The win now sees Guimaraes push up to fourth in the Portuguese top flight with games yet to be played on Saturday and Sunday.

Addy has got his club career back on track since arriving from champions Porto at the beginning of the season.

He had struggled to get a look-in under Vitor Pereira and as a result was farmed out on loan twice to Academic Coimbra and Panetolikos.

The return to regular first team action for the ex All Stars player has seen him secure a return to the Ghana national team.

Good show Addy, for me he is a million times better than Afful therefore should be given the nod for the LB spot.

FROM NOW ON, NANA ASARE AND DAVE ADDY ARE OUR ANSWERS TO OUR LEFT BACK PROBLEMS. AA, FOR YOUR OWN SAKE. CALL THESE 2 PLAYERS TO AFCON 2013. IF U WANT TO WIN THE TROPHY, IT WILL IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO CALL DAVE ADDY AND NANA ASARE FOR THIS POSITION. OUR LEFT BACK PROBLEMS ARE NOW OVER

  3. Timo says:
