Ghana striker David Accam says he is not surprised with his debut call-up to the Black Stars.
The 22-year-old was one of the surprise inclusions in Kwesi Appiah’s squad for Ghana’s crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Sudan on March 24 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“It’s amazing (debut call), that’s what every boy dreams about – playing for your country,” he told MTNFootball.com.
“I am not surprised. I have played well both in the Champions League qualifiers and in the Europa league and the coach was following the matches.”
Accam joined Swedish champions Helsingborg in August last year after only five months at third-tier side Ostersund.
He played and excelled in this season’s UEFA Champions League third qualifying round and also in the Group stages of the UEFA League.
Accam is the sixth graduate from the renowned Right to Dream Academy in Ghana to have been invited to the senior national team.
