Ex-AC Milan star George Weah has denied taking to twitter to attack Milan players over their ‘abysmal’ performance in the current season.

The former Ballon D’or winner insists the Twitter account which was used to chastise the Rossoneri players following their 4-1 humiliation at Atletico Madrid and exit from the Uefa Champions League on a 5-1 aggregate is a hoax.

Most of Milan’s ex-stars have condemned the club’s current squad for their performance but the Liberian star who is the only African footballer to have ever won the FIFA Footballer of the Year Award says the account used to make the comments is fake.

“The account @ weah_official, is absolutely FALSE. I spoke a little while ago with George and he confirmed the account is not for him and doesn’t want his name to be used,” a close friend of Weah tweeted.

Milan who were the last Italian club left in the competition were eliminated on Tuesday night.

Whether we like it or not the fact is the same, these two players of our land would not qualify to be members of AC Milan squad during the days of Weah & Gullit.Milan seems to be short of cash that is why they are going in for those players.

@John, bro you nailed it. The fact is teams go through transition periods that harm or make them better. Just look at the Marseille team of 1991 – 1992? Just awesome! No member of the current Marseiile team would have even made it on the reserves of that team. Money really counts and that is why PSG is where they are today. The sad reality is that Milan has become just ordinary and if this trend continues – oblivious of the times, they could be forgotten just as other great teams of the past.

If AA does his things well these two players will only be good for the BS bench. That is they can come in when the tempo of the game goes down. Even that they have to seriously work on their passes because it is becoming poorer and poorer as the day goes by. They can therefore not allow the only assets they have to protect now as far as football is concerned leave them else they will be of use to the BS team. These two players are supposed to bring maturity and experience into our game but in the few matches I have watched them play they either hold on onto the ball unnecessarily, too many faulty passes, lose concentration when they have the ball, you see opponents always wrestling the ball from them and inaccurate long passes. As a matter of fact these two players are becoming the missing link in the BS midfield at the moment. Look at Pirlo, what he does for Juventus is use his experience to give intelligent passes and distributing the ball very well by reading the game whilst Pogba does all the dirty jobs in the midfield. And this is what we expect from these players but most of the time you see these guys trying to do the very things they use to do when they were young and have the energy especially Essien meanwhile we all know they have finished as far as power is concerned, I do not know the point they want to prove with that kind of attitude.
