Mumuni Abubakar joins teammates in camp
By Ameenu Shardow
The South African-based duo of Mumuni Abubakar and Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi have arrived to join the Ghana U-20 camp.
The duo arrived on Tuesday evening and were immediately driven to the Black Satellites’ camping base in Prampram.
The arrival of Sarfo-Gyamfi and Abubakar serves as a massive boost as the team prepares to take on Morocco in the return leg of the African Youth Championship qualifier in Rabat.
The Black Satellites hold a healthy 4-1 lead going into the second leg.
The team led by coach Maxwell Konadu will leave Ghana on Wednesday for the weekend’s game against the Moroccans.
Ghana must secure a result in Rabat to ensure qualification to the finals which will be hosted in Algeria next year.
The Black Satellites are fighting to regain the spark which made them World Champions in 2009 in Egypt and a slip will be a big blow to the progress of the current Ghana U-20 team.
