Abedi Pele backs Baffoe to be instant hit at Kotoko

Abedi Pele has backed midfielder Prince Baffoe to be an instant hit at Asante Kotoko but stressed his success will not come on a silver platter.

The young playmaker who powered Division One side Nania FC to last season’s FA Cup title is currently in Kumasi to discuss personal terms to join the Premier League giants for an undisclosed fee.

And his soon-to-be former coach and President, Pele believes the midfielder has what it takes to succeed at a big club like Kotoko only if he works hard for it.

“He is a very good player and I think he will do well at Kotoko but all depends on him,” Pele told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“If he continues to work hard and stay determined then he will succeed at Kotoko.”

Pele however insisted Baffoe’s imminent departure will not hurt Nania as they prepare to make their maiden appearance at the Confederations Cup.

“This is what Nania is all about. To give young players the platform to shine,” he said.

“I can tell you we have several players of Baoffoe’s quality if not better so I don’t think he going to Kotoko will worry us at all.”
