Algerian legend Rabah Madjer has criticized coach Christian Gourcuff for ignoring local players in his final 23-man squad for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Gourcuff included only two local goalkeeper in his squad including Doukha Izzeddine of JS Kabylie and Mohamed Lamine Zemmamouche of USM Alger.

However he excluded out field players who are locals in his final squad and the former Porto star has criticized the decision.

“It is too bad that in this list, there is no local players, apart from the two goalkeepers who are Neetari and Zemmamouche,” he said

“I would have liked to see one or two local players at least. All this will discourage our local players.”

The Algerians are in Group C with Ghana, Senegal and South Africa for the 17 January to 8 February finals.
