Defender Rashid Sumaila says he is now focused on working hard to Ghana’s final squad to the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.

The Mamelodi Sundowns defender has returned to the country after helping the Brazilians win the 2013/2014 South African Absa Premier League.

The 21-year-old has named in a provisional 26-man squad expected to begin training in Accra next Tuesday.

“Now the league is over my attention has quickly moved to giving my best for Ghana during training and hoping fully making the 23 man squad for the World Cup,” the former Kotoko player told GHANASoccernet.com

“The team is very competitive one and everyone is looking forward to linking up and giving our best to help mother Ghana.

“As at now on a personal level my total focus is doing well with the Black Stars.”

Sumaila put up an excellent performance when Ghana thrashed Egypt 6-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the first leg of the playoffs.
