Parma coach Roberto Donadoni believes midfielder Afriyie Acquah fits the bill to play for Ghana at the 2014 World Cup.

The 22-year-old is on loan from German side TSG Hoffenheim has emerged as a key player at the Stadio Tardini after a slow start.

Acquah has made 19 Serie A appearances and been very assertive in the midfield.

Last week, he was named man-of-the-match in Parma’s 1-1 home draw with Genoa.

Donadoni, a former Italy national team coach, says Acquah deserves to play at the June’s tournament in Brazil.

"We are sure that someone like Acquah can play at the World Cup with Ghana,” Donadoni is quoted by Tuttomercato.

"Essien and Muntari have certainly lived a memorable year. Now it's up to him to confirm his growth in the team.”
